At the JEC 2024 fair, which will take place from 5 to 7 March, representatives of the four technology centers will exhibit and present to the public the developments in the recycling of composite plastic materials and solutions for the revaluation of composite materials that have been carried out during the three years of the project, to show the advances and research and transfer these solutions to interested companies.
The OSIRIS network (Strategic cooperation in technologies for the circular economy of composites and complex plastic materials with high added value) was formed by The Excellence Cervera Spanish Technology Centers of Gaiker (coord.), Aimplas, Aitex, and Cidaut Technology the Cervera Centers of Excellence. It has focused on promoting the recycling of composite materials and complex plastics through innovative initiatives that improve the profitability of the recycling process and the generation of by-products with high-added value oriented towards the market, in a global environment of collaboration between technology centers and companies.
The OSIRIS network aims to achieve a new model of production and consumption that minimizes the generation of waste and makes the best possible use of those that cannot be avoided. In this sense, three strategic axes are identified: the development of recycling technologies, the valorization of the materials obtained in intermediate products, and the processing of these in demonstrators that validate the technologies applied and promote the incorporation of recycled material to replace fossil resources, favoring circularity.
