The OSIRIS Network invites you to participate in a free webinar on 11 May to discuss the new possibilities that exist in the circular economy of composites and complex plastics materials with high added value.
Nowadays, composites and complex plastics are high value-added materials. However, the circularity of these materials is still far from becoming a reality. The lack of reprocessability and the difficulty to repair and recycle composite materials significantly increases their cost, while causing serious environmental problems.
The OSIRIS network aims to achieve a new model of production and consumption that minimises the generation of waste and makes the best possible use of those that cannot be avoided. In this sense, three strategic axes are identified: the development of recycling technologies, the valorisation of the materials obtained in intermediate products and the processing of these in demonstrators that validate the technologies applied and promote the incorporation of recycled material to replace fossil resources, favouring circularity.
This Network establishes an alliance between four Technological Centres of Excellence “Cervera” and of reference at national and international level to strengthen R&D&I capacities: GAIKER Foundation – GAIKER (coordinator), Association of Plastic and Related Materials Research – AIMPLAS, Association of Textile Industry Research – AITEX, and Foundation for Research and Development in Transport and Energy – CIDAUT.
